ISS Threshold: A non-executive director is considered overboarded when serving on 5 or more public company boards. For sitting CEOs / executive directors, the threshold is 2 or more external board seats.
Glass Lewis Threshold: Directors sitting on 5 or more total public company boards are flagged regardless of executive status.
Limitations: This analysis covers listed company boards tracked by SouqData across GCC exchanges. Directors may hold additional seats on private companies, subsidiaries, non-profits, or boards in other jurisdictions that are not captured here. The executive status classification relies on role titles in appointment data, which may not always be accurate.
Data source: Director appointments with is_board_role = true and status = 'Current' from exchange filings and annual reports.
