Biography

A leader with vast experience and extensive investment sector knowledge, with more than 33 years of professional experience, including in the field of financing, alternative investments and real estate investments, locally and internationally. Farouq Ali Bastaki held executive administrative and leadership positions as a Board member and Managing Director of the General Authority for Investments, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Martins London Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Technology Enterprises Company. Through his membership and leadership of many boards of directors, he gained practical expertise in internal audit, risk management, governance matters, compliance, oversight and money laundering. He has also served as a Board member of both Gulf Bank, Kuwait Fund for Economic Development and Foster Lin USA, and is currently an independent Board member of the National Bank of Kuwait.
