Biography
Eng. Khalid Y. Al-Hammad serves as President of Bahri Ship Management. In his statement, he acknowledges the outstanding achievements of the BSM team and highlights key accomplishments including the successful preparation and crewing of 11 newly acquired vessels for deployment in 2024, and four additional vessels deployed in January 2025. Under his leadership, the ships' performance under the Port State Control framework remained exemplary with zero port detentions. He notes that 52 Bahri vessels were awarded the prestigious Qualship-21 designation by the U.S. Coast Guard. Safety remained a top priority under his tenure, with the year concluding with no fatalities and 270 transits through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden conducted without incidents despite heightened geopolitical tensions. In September 2024, the organization transitioned to SIRE 2.0, an enhanced ship inspection reporting framework. Environmental stewardship was reinforced with the completion of ballast water treatment system installations in all ships. He highlights the completion of digital dashboards for EU greenhouse gas emissions regulation compliance and the fleet-wide roll-out of SMARTShip® data collection system covering 73 vessels. He also marks a significant milestone with the partnership with Folk Maritime Services as BSM's first venture beyond the Bahri fleet. He extends gratitude to BSM's dedicated offshore and onshore teams.
