Dr. Sultan is a leading and distinguished expert in the field of Islamic banking, finance and insurance. He is also a recipient of the Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Award for Academic Excellence. Dr. Sultan is the Chairman of the Internal Sharia Supervisory Committees of several Islamic financial institutions in the UAE. Dr. Sultan holds a PhD in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence from Umm Al Qurra University, Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has written extensively on modern Islamic finance and has presented numerous research papers at various international conferences.
